Biography

Dr. Jeffrey A. Brown is a governance and systems advisor whose work spans public leadership, institutional strategy, and long-term public and private investment. He advises boards, senior leaders, owners, and investors operating in complex, highly visible environments where governance, capital decisions, and execution intersect.
As founder of Inspire Global, Brown leads advisory engagements focused on governance design, public and private decision-making, institutional transformation, and execution strategy. His work supports leaders across government, mission-driven organizations, and privately held enterprises navigating regulatory complexity, cross-sector coordination, and long-horizon risk. He is known for bringing disciplined judgment, systems insight, and principled leadership to environments where decisions carry material public, financial, and reputational consequences.
Brown previously served as an At-Large Member of the Lansing City Council, representing Michigan’s capital city. In that role, he participated in legislative governance, fiduciary oversight, and policy decisions affecting municipal services, public infrastructure, and economic development. His public leadership included oversight of citywide budgets, intergovernmental authorities, and regional institutions stewarding significant public assets with long-term fiscal implications.
He also served as a Commissioner on the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization and Council of Governments for Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties. In that capacity, Brown contributed to regional governance and long-range planning across transportation, economic development, and infrastructure systems serving nearly half a million residents.
Across healthcare, workforce, and human services systems, Brown has held governance and advisory roles with nonprofit organizations while also leading complex, contract-driven operations intersecting public oversight and private execution. He holds a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership, and his work is informed by a commitment to stewardship, leadership formation, and long-term institutional health — expressed through practical governance and systems thinking.
